I am a food technology engineer and at Wageningen University and my internships have allowed me to look into the (often chemical) kitchen of the food industry.
There are good things happening there, but also, unfortunately, often ill-considered things that have led to a sharp decline in public health in recent decades. It is really not the case that all new technology is bad, but rather it should be used to make food healthier and actually reduce the risk of overeating. Unfortunately, this is not the case, which is why we now live in an 'obesogenic world', so to speak, where we are tempted and sometimes even misled all day long, causing us to make unhealthy choices and eat too many calories.
This webinar aims to make you aware of the many, often hidden disadvantages of food in the supermarket. I don't want to cover every last detail, but focus on the big picture from a helicopter view to give you a better overview of your purchasing and consumption behaviour. Products you don't eat often are not that important, but products you consume daily are even more so. So make your own compromise and realise that every improvement is a step in the right direction.
Think of this webinar as the starting point of an exciting exploration of healthy supermarket food, where I hope to inspire you.
For whom. For men and women of all ages who want more clarity regarding supermarket food/food.
